Adam and Katie: A Rainy Day Engagement

Imagine this: You’ve booked a photoshoot. Maybe you’re recently engaged and want a photographer to capture some intimate photos of you and your fiancé. Maybe you’re having a small wedding and want a few timeless photos to remember the day. Maybe you’re an entrepreneur in need of social media content. Whatever the case is, you’ve scheduled a photoshoot and booked a photographer. A few days before, you check your weather app and uh-oh. Storm clouds and rain. All. Day. You’re nervous but hopeful that the less than desirable weather could blow over and that you could still be gifted clear skies. Well, it doesn’t clear up and todays the day and the weather is wet, cold and windy. Obviously, you should just cancel your shoot and try another day…right? A few years ago I may have had the same perspective, but something I have learned over the past year of perfecting my craft, is the best photos tend to come out of those days when you say, “You know what, let’s just do it.” This …

Something Different

Hey friends! First of all I want to say thank you for the response to my recent post 4 months in. I deliberately stay away from sharing too many details of my actual life online simply because that can open one up to a lot of things, many of those things being negative things. You all have been so kind and lovely and supportive and it warmed my heart, so thanks again for being the greatest little crew. You guys rock! Now, for the news. I’ve been working pretty hard on something and I wanted to share it with you guys. I’ve been exploring the realm of vlogging editing and all of that jazz and wanted to share it with you all. This isn’t the whole thing, just a little teaser to whats on its way but feel free to check it out below:   The final video should be uploaded tonight or tomorrow, so keep an eye out! It’ll be posted on My Channel. Thanks AGAIN for being so amazing!

My 2018

2018 is coming to a close. It’s crazy right, I can still vividly remember celebrating the entry into 2018 with all of my friends and just like that, it’s about to be over. There are still two months left but I figured this would be a good time for me to look over the year and evaluate somethings. 2018 was a year. It wasn’t particularly good, or bad for me. I grew, I learned through mistakes, I was challenged and I struggled at times but all in all it’s almost the end of the year and I’m here and loving my life still. So, let’s do it, let’s review the year of 2018. I’m going to break this down into categories (because this is how my brain works). One category will feature accomplishments; things that I am proud of, positive changes and positive growth and the other category will feature things that need improvement; things I still need to work on, things I could have done better or things I simply wish were better. Accomplishments: …

Camera Confidence

I’m a blogger…obviously. That’s why you’re here. An aspect of blogging that I didn’t consider when I originally started was the importance of photography within your blog. Now, not everyone needs top-notch photography on their blog. It all depends on what exactly you are trying to brand. If you are branding your writing only, let’s say a poetry or creative writing, then photos may not be a priority of yours. If you’re branding yourself, your style, or a product of yours, great photography can place you on the same level as the top bloggers and get you the traffic that you need to create a bigger name for yourself. When I realized the importance of this for myself, since I am a blogger who is trying to brand herself, I became slightly overwhelmed for two reasons: I didn’t have access to photos that were any better than my shaky hand iPhone 6 photos, and I was not anywhere near comfortable being in front of a camera for an extended period of time. Luckily, I know …
